Minimal Art has the image of an intellectual art. Irritating when one realises that the artists were concerned with the fact that the work is only constituted in contemplation and the viewer is thus given the opportunity to perceive himself relationally to the space and the objects themselves - the experience of the self as per se subjective and physical. [...]

Walkowiak's work Punch (2017) deals with a physical - but here imagined - appropriation. Several punching bags, covered with rectangular coloured areas, hang from the ceiling. The presentation resembles the serial arrangement of minimal objects.
The work Punch activates haptic pleasure and thus opens up a new imagined relationship to the viewer's body.
